Transparency in
three-dimensional form places a unique demand on a sculptor. The linear
qualities and all their relationships are fully exposed, as
is the mass or volume. The play of light within a form emphasizes
line, defines or masks the mass, establishes focal points, and
reveals
interior surface qualities that are usually only suggested. Cast
acrylic provides the opportunity to explore transparency and optics in
a sculptural sense in a studio environment. The sculpture
below
is a selection from the past thirty-five years. |
